The leading carrier Air India has been grabbing headlines for all the wrong reasons lately. From making passengers wait for hours to not making take-offs on time, flyers now started slamming the airline on social media for the same. Again on Thursday night, Air India flight number AI 187, which was scheduled to depart from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Feb 1, got delayed by more than 19 hours due to operational reasons.
Air India Internation Flight Delayed
The agitated passengers then created a chaotic scene at the airport, blaming the airline for making them wait for so long. Some of the passengers even alleged that the airline staff was not bothered to explain the actual cause of the delay, which made them feel even more furious.
Passengers Raise Slogan Against Air India
Later, the situation escalated in such a manner that passengers started raising slogans against the airline, seeking justice from the concerned authorities.
One of the passengers shared the airport scene on social media. While tweeting the footage on X, the user captioned it saying, Air India Del-YYZ flight delayed by over 20 hours and no proper departure time has been communicated. We need a refund or compensation for the inconvenience as I have an exam on Friday in college.”

It has been reported that over 300 flyers, who were scheduled to board the airplane, reached the airport on reporting time. After clearing the security and immigration process, they reached the dedicated boarding gate. Later, the staff told them to wait as the flight was not on time or delayed.
Compensation to Passengers
This is not the first time the airline hit the airlines over a huge delay. Recently, the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) directed the carrier to pay over Rs 2 lakh as compensation to four passengers, whose flight got delayed in 2003.
