The top player in the two-wheel segment, Yamaha is gearing up to step in the electric segment, using the footprints of motocross motorcycles. Ahead of the official release, the sketch of the filed patent has surfaced on the internet, revealing the actual structure of the motorcycle and some of the key features.
The bike is expected to make an official appearance sooner or later. However, the launch-related details are yet to be shared by the company.
What’s Update?
Going by the images, it seems the decision to create the e-motorcycle has been taken to provide greater torque, traction, and power in the motocross-riding competition. Images also suggested the bike might come with a carbon fiber monocoque chassis, which will keep the battery setup safe. It is likely to be similar to the TY-E trials electric bike.
Enhancements
During the TY-E testing, the company somehow realized that the electric motors are good at generating maximum torque at low speed. However, the direct connection between the motor and rear wheel is not generating the sufficient drive as needed.
Better Riding Quality
In order to fix the problem, the brand has included a flywheel and a conventional clutch in the arrangement. The decision came in favour as it enhanced the low-speed balance, allowing the rider to have quick power when releasing the clutch.
