Javed Akhtar Loses His Cool at Noisy Paparazzi, Says 'Shor Mat Karo'; Video Goes Viral
Javed Akhtar was not impressed by the noise the paparazzi were causing outside his birthday party.

Javed Akhtar was unhappy with the paparazzi screaming around him. The acclaimed lyricist made an appearance in Mumbai on Thursday night on the occasion of his birthday. He made his way to Anil Kapoor’s house where his birthday party was being hosted. In a video shared by paparazzi on Instagram, Javed Akhtar was seen heading to his birthday bash venue with his wife Shabana Azmi by his side.

Dressed in his trademark kurta-pyjama, Javed was seen wading through a sea of cameras. The chaos that unfolded did not go down with Javed. He did not shy away from schooling paparazzi. In a video, he was seen telling the paparazzi, “Shor mat karo,” before he posed for them. Watch the video below:

Anil and Javed were joined by their children — Farhan Akhtar, Shibani Dandekar, Sonam Kapoor, Anand Ahuja, and Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor. Divya Dutta, Zoya Akhtar, and Ashutosh Gowariker were also a part of the bash.

Just last week, Javed Akhtar attended the CNN News18 Indian of the Year ceremony. Akhtar was one of the esteemed jury members of the awards show and he presented the Indian of the Year in the space of entertainment to Mani Ratnam.

Speaking about Mani, Akhtar said, “We were very sure of our technical superiority. He made us feel like illiterate children.” The veteran writer who is credited with writing the screenplay of iconic films like Sholay, Deewar, and Don said that it is very hard in the film industry to sustain success like Mani Ratnam has done. He said, “It won’t be politically right but I can give you names of ten directors who have made a number of superhits but nobody remembers them. In the film industry, it is not only success that sustains you, success with some exceptional work, and that is by Mani Ratnam.”

Mani Ratnam also returned the compliments and said, “Javed saab, I think we need you back writing the screenplay. It will help us a lot. Especially in these times, when we are talking of just numbers, I think we need Javed saab.” Mani Ratnam further joked that he will make the next film when Javed Akhtar writes a screenplay for him.
