New Delhi: Fast food major McDonalds has removed the advisory telling its employees stay away from fast food. Earlier, in an ironic move, McDonalds had told its own employees to avoid eating fast food.

In a post on its employee website, the global fast food chain had warned that fast food is high in sodium and fat and could lead to obesity.

"Fast foods are quick, reasonably priced, and readily available alternatives to home cooking. While convenient and economical for a busy lifestyle, fast foods are typically high in calories, fat, saturated fat, sugar, and salt and may put people at risk for becoming overweight," said a post on the site.

In the past, McDonalds has also come under criticism for its unhealthy menu options.
