Yogi Babu is one of the most sought-after actors and comedians in Tamil cinema and has been an integral part of many Tamil films. He has excelled in nearly every form of comedy, be it slapstick or subtle humour. Currently, he is in the news, for his temple visit to the Subramania Swamy Temple in Tiruchendur district of Tamil Nadu. Fans gathered around Yogi Babu and took selfies with him. The comedian obliged the followers with the selfies and went on with the worshipping of Lord Murugan.
The Mandela actor visited the other shrines as well like the Vilakkoli Perumal temple in Kancheepuram and the Dakshinamurthy Temple. Some of the clips of Yogi Babu at the temple have surfaced on Instagram. The videos show him performing all the rituals for Lord Murugan’s aarti.
Yogi Babu’s temple visit made him a part of the headlines in January this year as well. He had visited the Arulmigu Subramaniya Swami Temple, Tiruttani, located in the Tiruvallur district. According to reports, he had appealed to be let in, using the VIP lane. Reportedly, the VIP lane was empty but the temple authorities didn’t open it and kept the actor waiting. He was reportedly made to wait for over an hour by the authorities to let him in through the VIP lane.
Seeing no other alternative, he decided to take the general route to the temple, along with the common people. The public was shocked to see him among the crowd. Fans shook hands with him and some of them also took selfies. Devotees started to gather at the temple in large numbers after the word spread that Yogi Babu was present there. Security guards then escorted him out of the temple after the darshan while shielding him from the mob.
On the work front, Yogi Babu essayed the role of Pappu in Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan, directed by Atlee. Jawan has received positive reviews from the audience and critics alike.
