Following Thalaivar 170, Rajinikanth has already lined up his next major project, Thalaivar 171.

The highly anticipated film of Superstar Rajinikanth, initially titled Thalaivar 170, has been generating significant buzz, and the makers have unveiled a special surprise on his 73rd birthday. To celebrate this occasion, the official title of the movie has been announced, accompanied by a special birthday teaser trailer released at 5 p.m.

Lyca Productions shared a black-and-white photo of Superstar Rajinikanth on Twitter, stating, “Let the celebrations begin for Thalaivar’s B’day. Witness the grand reveal of the Thalaivar170 title along with the B’day teaser video tomorrow at 5 PM!” The post quickly went viral, with fans expressing their excitement in the comments.

According to reports, Thalaivar 170 is directed by TJ Gnanavel, known for his critically acclaimed film Jai Bhim. Rajinikanth is set to portray the character of a retired Muslim police officer reopening a case to seek justice. The film’s shooting has taken place in various locations, including Thiruvananthapuram, Tirunelveli, and Mumbai, with production commencing earlier this year.

Thalaivar 170 features an ensemble cast, including Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Rithika Singh, Manju Warrier, and Dussara Vijayan in prominent roles. The film is expected to bring together two Indian cinema legends, Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, on the big screen.

This film is reported to be a standalone project, not connected to the Lokesh Cinematic Universe storyline. Dancer-turned-actor Raghava Lawrence is rumoured to play the antagonist opposite Rajinikanth, with ongoing talks for roles with Sivakarthikeyan and Jeeva. The film, produced by Sun Pictures, will feature music by Anirudh Ravichander, and the action direction will be handled by Anbariv.
