Dinesh Karthik will be the batting consultant for the England Lions squad ahead of their upcoming three four-day games against the India A side at Ahmedabad.

Dinesh Karthik is set to join England’s coaching staff which will travel to India for their upcoming tour. Karthik will join England Men’s Elite Pace Bowling Coach Neil Killeen and be part of the staff to provide some insights for the travelling side. The England A team will take part in three four-day games against the India A side in Ahmedabad which begins on January 17.

Along with Karthik, England’s coaching staff have also included former England internationals Ian Bell and Graeme Swann to provide their expertise and understanding of playing in Indian conditions and work with the England full-time coaches Richard Dawson and Carl Hopkinson.

England Men’s Performance Director, Mo Bobat commented on the inclusion of Dinesh Karthik. He said,” It’s fantastic to have Dinesh Karthik with us for a part of our prep period and leading into the first Test. I’m sure the lads will love spending time with him and benefiting from his experience of what it takes to be successful at Test level in India.”

Dinesh Karthik is set to join the England Lions camp as a batting consultant and will join nine days near the start of the tour and the travelling side will be hoping to make the most of his knowledge playing across Indian conditions.

Mo Bobat also added,” “Similarly, Ian Bell and Graeme Swann have spent time around our Lions environments over the past year and will be well-placed to continue supporting the players, many of whom they already know well. They both bring fantastic experiences to their respective coaching and mentoring roles.”
