During India’s 2006 tour of Pakistan, Irfan Pathan registered a stunning hat-trick in the first over of the 3rd Test in Karachi. Pathan became the first ever bowler in history to achieve the feat in the very first over of a Test.
Pathan made his name in international cricket with his ability to generate banana swing that time and again bamboozled many a batters during the peak of his career. It was his swing that dazzled Pakistan top-order in Karachi 18 years ago as he got rid of Salman Butt, Younis Khan and Mohommad Yousuf in the second half of the over.

Fast forward to July 13, 2024. Pathan took Indian cricket fans on a nostalgic trip with a brilliant inswinger that proved too hot to handle for Younis in the final of the World Championship of Legends final played in Birmingham.

The contest was held between Indian Champions and Pakistan Champions at Edgbaston and Pathan cleaned up Younis in the 12th over on 7.
The match exhibition tournament saw participation from teams representing India, Pakistan, Australia, England, South Africa and West Indies. Some of the biggest yesteryears stars took part in the event, reliving their glory years.
India squad was led by two-time world cup winning allrounder Yuvraj Singh and it also featured the likes of Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, Robin Uthappan, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Ambati Rayudu among others.
Pakistan Champions, led by Younis, opted to bat first and were kept to 156/6 with Anureet Singh taking 3/43 from four overs.
India Champions blazed away in the chase before losing Uthappa on 10. Rayudu made a half-century while Yusuf struck 16-ball 30 before Yuvraj (15*) and Irfan (5*) took sealed the victory in the 20th over.
Rayudu was adjudged player-of-the-match while Yusuf player-of-the-series.
