'What You Think of Yourself is What Matters': Preity Zinta's Message of Appreciation for Shashank Singh Following Blinder Against GT
PBKS Co-owner and Bollywood actress Zinta took to social media to express her appreciation and admiration for the 32-year-old batter's mental fortitude to overcome adversities following his match-winning 61 run knock against Gujarat Titans.

The Punjab Kings pulled off a sensational victory over Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Thursday to register their second win of the ongoing IPL 2024 season and climb to fifth in the table.

Punjab managed to successfully chase down the target of 200 runs in 19.5 overs as 32-year-old Shashank Singh played a blinder of an innings as he racked up 61 runs off just 29 deliveries and remained unbeaten as he carried his side over the finish line.

The very purchase of Shashank created a stir at the auction as some reports suggested that the side from Punjab had roped the player in by mistake instead of his namesake. However, the team quashed the rumours as they released a statement that the 32-year-old was indeed the man they wanted.

The side’s co-owner and Bollywood actress Preity Zinta took to social media to express her appreciation and admiration for the batter’s mental fortitude to overcome adversity.

“Today seems like the perfect day to finally talk about things that were said in the past about us at the auction. A lot of people in similar situations would have lost confidence, buckled under pressure or become de-motivated ……. but not Shashank! He is not like a lot of people. He is truly special. Not just because of his skill as a player but because of his positive attitude & incredible spirit. He took all the comments, jokes and brick bats so sportingly & never became a victim. He backed himself and showed us what he is made of, and for that I applaud him,” Zinta’s post read.

“He has my admiration & my respect. I hope he can be an example to all of you when life takes a different turn & does not play according to script, for it’s not what people think of you that matters, but what You think of Yourself ! So never stop believing in yourself like Shashank & I’m sure you will be the Man of the match in the game of life,” the 49-year-old actress said.
