A heartwarming incident involving Dr. Indramani Tripathi, the District Magistrate (DM) of Auraiya, Uttar Pradesh, has recently gone viral on social media, capturing the public’s attention after a recent public hearing. Known for his humble and approachable nature, Dr Tripathi’s gesture of kindness towards a complainant has earned him widespread praise.
The incident occurred when a resident from Bidhuna approached the DM with a complaint about land encroachment. During the interaction, Dr Tripathi inquired about the complainant’s travel arrangements and asked how he managed to fill petrol in his bike. The man explained that the person who accompanied him had taken care of it. Dr Tripathi then asked if the man had eaten anything, to which the complainant replied that he had brought parathas from home as he couldn’t afford to buy food.
In a remarkable show of empathy, the DM asked the complainant if he would be willing to share the parathas with him. Surprised by the request, the man agreed, and Dr. Tripathi not only ate the parathas but praised them. The DM assured the complainant that he would take care of his land issue and promised to resolve it as soon as possible. This unexpected act of kindness moved the complainant to tears, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present.
Dr Tripathi’s handling of the situation has been applauded for demonstrating compassion and humility in public service. His gesture has set a new standard for personal engagement and empathy within administrative practices.
Dr Indramani Tripathi, a 1998 batch PCS officer, was promoted to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) on August 31, 2020. He has held several key positions, including Vice Chairman of the Lucknow Development Authority in June 2022 and Special Secretary in the Urban Development Department of the Uttar Pradesh government. On July 13, he was appointed as the DM of the Auraiya district, where he continues to serve with dedication.
