A seven-year-old boy was allegedly beaten, made to stripped and given electric shocks by his teacher at a private school in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh after he forgot to bring his school bag.
The incident came to light when the child returned home in tears and shared the ordeal with his mother, prompting the family to file a complaint with the police. An investigation was initiated on Monday.
After informing the police about the incident, the child’s family went to the school to protest.
On the day of the incident, the child’s father was away, and his mother was unwell, so his grandfather took him to school. The teacher’s identity has not yet been disclosed.
The child’s family, residents of Bharat Nagla village under the Lodha police station area, further alleged that the UKG student at the private school was “severely” beaten by the teacher, as per The Times Of India report.
Meanwhile, the school principal has denied the allegations, stating, “The complaints of the child being subjected to electric shock are wrong. We are ready to show CCTV footage. The allegations are unsubstantiated.”
Rajveer Singh Parmar, the officer in charge at Lodha police station, stated that he and his team arrived at the school to begin their investigation. “We have started questioning the school staff and administrators,” he said.
“A case will be registered based on the written complaint,” Parmar added.
