Liverpool: Liverpool have been boosted by the news that the Red’s vice-captain Jamie Carragher is set to return to action in time for their Premier League clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The 33-year-old has been forced to sit out the Red’s last two matches with a calf injury, but first-team coach Steve Clarke is hopeful the defender has now overcome the problem.
"Jamie has joined in training over the last couple of days and looked good,” Clarke told liverpool.tv.
“He was out for a couple of weeks with a minor calf injury. We just made sure he took his time, recovered from it, and he's trained well these past couple of days."
"He'll be in contention for the weekend if there are no mishaps between now and the game."
Liverpool will be hoping to get their season back on track after a disappointing goalless draw at home to Swansea in their previous league clash.
