Dempo's Beto targets I-League title
Beto is more than ready to kick-start his team's I-League campaign in Mumbai.

New Delhi: The Brazilian has scored in the last five games he has played and wants the good times to continue as long as possible which shall help the cause of Dempo.

Several of those goals have come from dead ball situations where his free-kicks have been inch perfect.

"We have won all our games except the loss to Churchill in the Durand Cup. For me, it's been all good so far as I have been scoring as well. When you score the motivation is even more and I can't wait for the I-League to start," said the 31-year-old.

The Goan side didn't have a memorable I-League campaign last season where their primary focus was on the AFC Cup, where they failed to progress beyond the quarter-finals stage.

"This season for us, the I-League is the topmost priority. If we win the Federation Cup then the AFC Cup comes into the picture but its I-League on our minds."

On being asked to name the contenders for the I-League title, Beto refused to rule out East Bengal from being in the reckoning as he believes that some good foreigners can bring in further quality to the Kolkata side.

"I believe Mohun Bagan, Churchill Brothers and even East Bengal, who have no motivation for now but if they start well, it will be tough. Then you have the surprise packages like Salgaocar and last season, we saw Sporting do so well."

"Having said this, I feel our squad is great with the addition of Sunil Chhetri and Anwar. They are doing well and shall help us in our objectives."
