The English Premier League has not been the friendliest destination for Brazilian players in the past.

The English Premier League has not been the friendliest destination for Brazilian players, and players of the caliber of Ronaldo and Rivaldo have snubbed the tournament in the past for La Liga and Serie A.

In recent years, the list of Brazilian footballers to flop in England include Robinho (Manchester City), Kleberson (Manchester United), Denilson (Arsenal) and Afonso Alves (Middlesbrough), to name just a few. These players were touted as the next big thing but disappointed and were sold by their respective clubs.

But there have been some players who have bossed EPL with their performances. Gilberto Silva was a key figures at Arsenal for years. Middlesborough's Juninho spend his best years at the club and is still cherished by their supporters. More recently, Ramires, Rafael, Lucas, David Luiz, Anderson and Sandro have all settled in well are key member for their EPL teams. Chelsea recently bought Oscar, dubbed ‘the next Kaka’. He has played just two games for them and by the look of the things is an exciting prospect.

There are many theories as to why so many Brazilian players have flopped in England, but the most common assessment is the physicality of the EPL which is far more than any other league in the world. On that note, here’s a look at a few Brazilians who could have fans dancing to their Samba tunes this season.

Neymar: No less than the legendary Pele thinks he is one of the best footballers in the world and can be better than Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Neymar has been linked Chelsea and Manchester United in the past and with his attacking ability, is perfectly suited to the EPL.

Douglas Costa: Linked to with Arsenal and Manchester United in the past, he has the dribbling, pace and skills to be one of the best players in the EPL. The ex-Gremio player has been described by Sir Alex Ferguson as "probably the best young player in South America" and has also been compared to Ronaldinho by football plaudits.

Hulk: This powerful forward can play through the centre or out wide. His strength, dribbling skill and a fearsome left-footed shot are Hulk’s trademarks. He has been heavily linked with big-spending Chelsea.

Ganso: Santos’ attacking midfielder is one of the finest players of his generation. His ball and link play are his forte and that is the reason Arsene Wenger wants him at Arsenal.
