Manchester United star Jadon Sancho has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford hours before the new Premier League season starts. As per Spanish football outlet Fichajes, the English forward realises he has no future with the Red Devils and is ‘doing his part’ to leave the club as soon as possible. With the transfer window drawing to a close, Sancho remains eager for a move to the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). The Parisian side has yet to make a formal move to negotiate a deal with Manchester United for the 24-year-old. He is reportedly no longer a part of Erik ten Hag’s plans at Old Trafford.
With Manchester United set to compete against Fulham on August 16, Jadon Sancho’s future at the club remains uncertain. The Englishman didn’t have the best time with multi-time Premier League champions. At one point, Sancho even found himself exiled from the main team after publicly alleging his coach Erik ten Hag of lying about the reasons for dropping him. Several reports claimed the duo had buried their hatchet after the football star returned following an impressive campaign with Borussia Dortmund. Yet, he is not among the manager’s most trusted forwards for the upcoming season.
The Fichajes report states that Jadon Sancho is ‘clear about his desire’ for a move to PSG. It is claimed that the Englishman has even reached a preliminary agreement with the Ligue 1 giants. PSG have expressed their interest in the Manchester United star since June this year. The club was impressed by the 24-year-old’s Champions League run with Dortmund. They now see Sancho as the perfect candidate to fill in Kylian Mbappe’s shoes in Paris.
To bring Jadon Sancho to France, PSG will first have to raise more funds and free some salary caps. As per French media outlet Foot-Mercato via Fichajes, the Ligue 1 side will have to close several exits of players, including Manuel Ugarte, Danilo and Mukiele. Sorting these exits will provide the club with the necessary liquidity to complete Sancho’s signing. With just 15 days left before the transfer market’s closing, the Englishman will be hopeful about both parties reaching an agreement over the transfer.
As for Manchester United, the Erik ten Hag-coached side recently completed a double swoop of Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich. The successful signings have instilled a fair bit of confidence in the club over a potential shot at the title. The Dutch coach will now be looking to add one more midfielder before the transfer window shuts. United are believed to be interested in PSG’s Ugarte.
