New Delhi: A host of world cup 2010 qualifiers are ready to get underway on Wednesday and one of the teams lined up is Spain.

Spain take on Turkey in a Group 5 match.

Spain has had a great run so far, last beating Turkey 1-0 at home on Saturday. This result extended Spain's unbeaten run to 30 matches. Also, they are now 6 points clear of second-placed Bosnia-Herzegovina at the top of the table.

However, the win – though the tenth consecutive one - was not a vintage Spain.

Turkey came to the Bernabeu with a game plan, and they stuck to it, not giving the home side any space to play their free-flowing football, and not allowing Fernando Torres or David Villa a sniff at goal.

Whilst their discipline and control was ultimately unrewarded in defeat, it gave Vicente Del Bosque plenty to think about for the return leg this week. In south-east Europe it is not only likely to be a very different atmosphere from the fiesta in Madrid, but it is also likely to be a very different game in terms of tactics. In the Spanish capital, Turkey could afford to simply contain their hosts, trying to play on the counter and sitting back. However, at home, they will have to be more adventurous.

Coach Vicente del Bosque knows that a good win here would erase the not-so-convincing home win against Turkey.

However, the Armada will be without the services of Andres Iniesta and Carles Puyol for the game.
