Madrid: Real Madrid says there key defender Sergio Ramos has torn his left hamstring and looks set to be sidelined for up to six weeks.
Ramos limped off the field on Wednesday in the eighth minute of the hard-fought Spanish league clash against Sevilla that Madrid edged 2-1.
The 28-year-old Ramos attended the Sanitas clinic in the Madrid suburb of La Moraleja early on Friday looking serious, and saying "Here we go," as he entered the building.
Madrid later confirmed in a statement that his "progress will be monitored," although he looks likely to miss six matches including a weekend derby against Atletico Madrid, but should be fully recovered for the next clasico against Barcelona in late March.
