The New York Fashion Week which commenced in the city this year in September has been witnessing some strange events. Not long ago, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) supporters barged into the premises and crashed the show to make a statement on how animals are killed because of leather. Now, a stalker, identified as Chad Michael Busto, has been arrested for breaking into the dressing room of the New York Fashion Week event and screaming that “he wants to marry Hollywood actress Emma Watson.” According to a report by NBC News, 43-year-old Busto is charged with two counts — disorderly conduct and trespassing.
The incident happened on Friday, September 15 during the Ralph Lauren New York Fashion Show, conducted at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Chad Michael Busto barged into the backstage area of the event demanding to meet Emma Watson, professing his “admiration towards her in an inappropriate manner.” As per the prosecutors at the Kings County court, Busto was “repeatedly” heard screaming, “I want to marry Emma Watson. Let me speak to Emma Watson. Let me take a photo with Emma Watson” in front of the other members who were present backstage preparing for the fashion show. When asked to leave, Busto turned irate and refused to follow the order.
The documents filed at the court mentioned that although the entire premises were fenced to prevent “intruders” from coming in, Chad Michael Busto somehow managed to step inside unlawfully. Both Emma Watson and her representatives have refrained from commenting on Busto’s misbehaviour as of now. As per NBC News, whether or not the Harry Potter actress was present at the fashion show also remains unclear. Other celebrities who graced the gala ceremony were Jennifer Lopez, James Marsden, and Julianne Moore among others. Busto pleaded not guilty and was released without bail. His next court hearing is on October 2.
Back on August 21, Chad Michael Busto was arrested once again for allegedly stalking 50 First Dates actress Drew Barrymore. During an interview with singer Renee Rap, Barrymore was rushed to safety and taken offstage when Busto stormed into the stage at the 92nd Street Y, Manhattan, shouting at Barrymore, “I need to see you at some point while you’re in New York, OK?” Busto was later dragged away by the security forces, reports NBC News.
Chad Michael Busto’s stalker tendencies do not end here. Just three days after crashing the stage in Manhattan, he was seen looking for the actress’ Long Island home. As per NBC News, Busto was spotted riding his bicycle and asking the local residents for Barrymore’s address. He was arrested by the police authorities on August 24.
