Interested in learning a powerful attack to follow your jabs instead of the same old telegraphed right-cross punch? If so, then the spinning backfist, a technique that sacrifices a minor amount of speed for exponentially increased power, is the strike for you.
Get in a fighting stance, if you are not familiar with how to do this then please read the following article before attempting this technique: click here.
Perform the spin itself. Put one foot crossed behind the other as you do in a taekwondo stepping side kick, then pivot the hip and have the elbow follow through.
Swing the elbow out, and just before actually passing the opponent with the elbow shoot your forearm out and strike with the back of the first two knuckles. This will be very effective.
