Nandamuri Balakrishna’s recent action-packed drama, Bhagavanth Kesari, directed by Anil Ravipudi, made a significant impact on the big screen, garnering widespread acclaim from fans and critics alike. Following its successful theatrical run, the film is now gearing up for its OTT release on Amazon Prime Video, scheduled for November 24. While the initial release will be in Telugu, plans for availability in other languages are yet to be disclosed.
The film, which boasts a compelling emotional storyline, features Balakrishna in the role of Nelakonda Bhagavanth Kesari, setting it apart from typical action dramas. Kajal Aggarwal takes on the character of Kathyayani, and Sreeleela portrays Vijayalakshmi (Viji). Priyanka Jawalkar and Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal also play crucial roles. Arjun Rampal’s presence in the film marks his debut in the Telugu film industry.
Bhagavanth Kesari reportedly incurred a budget of around Rs 100 crore, making it one of the high-budget ventures in Balakrishna’s illustrious career. Produced by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi under the Shine Screens banner, the movie managed to amass impressive collections, crossing Rs 84.72 crore in India and reaching a worldwide total of approximately Rs 114.4 crores.
Notably, the film showcases Balakrishna in a role that aligns with his actual age, a departure from the trend where actors like Nagarjuna and Chiranjeevi often portray characters younger than themselves.

The actor’s recent string of successful films has reportedly empowered him to negotiate a considerable hike in his remuneration. For Bhagavanth Kesari, Balakrishna received a substantial sum of Rs 18 crores, a testament to his star power and box office draw. Looking ahead, reports suggest that he has demanded a whopping Rs 28 crores for his upcoming project with director Bobby, which will be produced under Naga Vamsi’s banner.
