HYDERABAD: Yet another drug peddling racket involving Africans was busted by the West Zone police here on Wednesday and 8.5 grams of cocaine was seized from them. The duo were nabbed when they came near the BK Guda Park in the morning to supply cocaine to a customer.The arrested are Mwinyi Kassim Mwaka of Tanzania and Shihab-El-Din of Sudan, both residing in Sainikpuri for the past three months. According to police, Shihab came to the country in 2003 on a student visa and finished his B.Sc from Jahnavi College at Narayanaguda.Later, he did his MBA from Manipal University and fell in love with a girl, Anne Mary Francis, a native of Aurangabad in Maharashtra. They got married in 2010 and have since been staying at Sainikpuri. "Shihab took to drug peddling for easy money. He came in contact with Mwaka of Tanzania through some friends in his country," a police officer said.Mwaka was procuring cocaine from other African drug peddlers while Shihab was selling it in small quantities to his customers. He was striking deals on the phone and passing on the narcotic to the customers at some select places for anything between Rs 4,000 and Rs 4,500 per gram of the drug.
