2 terrorists shot dead in gunbattle in Kashmir

Srinagar: Security forces have shot dead 2 militants in Kulgam district of South Kashmir as gunbattle broke out between militants and security forces on Monday morning.

The encounter broke out after militants hiding in a house opened indiscriminate fire on a joint search party of police and security forces at Khodwani, 70 km from capital Srinagar, police said. The militants are believed to be holed up inside a house.

A team of Army and police personnel carried out the encounter. The exchange of fire was going on when reports last came in.
