BANGALORE: The Bangalore International Airport (BIA) seems to be on a roll. Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation’s conclusive efforts to construct high-tech bus shelter-cum-accommodation facility enclave near Devanahalli has successfully proved to be a boost for travellers and tourists of domestic and foreign nationals.The inauguration of a play-port for children and affordable accommodation facilities in a single enclave will now be available for those landing at the Bangalore International Airport (BIA). BMTC has also purchased 2.23 acres of land from Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) at a whopping amount of Rs 2.25 crore for the project.R Ashok, Minister of Home and Transport, confirms the claims of developing a complex which will comprise of a BMTC bus station, facility for accommodation, quick rest rooms and a luxurious canteen. “The enclave will be located near the International Airport. The entire project was submitted a year ago. It has been approved from the cabinet ministers. However we are still in discussions about the number of floors that would need to be constructed,” he added.With the above inventive measures by the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) and Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) are being expected to earn revenues over Rs 65 crore. The new measure will definitely bring more laurels in the days to come.
