THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Chief Minister Ommen Chandy on Wednesday said the bar licence would not be issued to three star hotels and that tourism development would not anymore be based on promotion of alcohol. Speaking after the release of the ‘Prohibition’ magazine, the mouthpiece of Kerala Prohibition Council, here, Chandy said that the State Government was not considering the revenue from liquor as actual revenue. Instead, it has got a tenfold adverse affect on society. He also said that the right to ban liquor would be given to the local bodies and the new law would be enacted after getting it passed in the coming Assembly session in May. The Chief Minister released the magazine by handing over the first copy to Sugathakumari.
