CHENNAI: Andhra Pradesh Governer  E S L Narasimhan on Tuesday said that money-making should not be the ultimate aim of educational institutions.    Rather, he felt, a common fee structure should be framed across the country.Delivering the 11th Graduation Day address at the Rajalakshmi Engineering College in Thandalam, he remarked, “Stop converting the education system, which is Saraswathi, into Lakshmi.” Affordability of education  by middle class families, particularly with regard to medical and engineering courses, should be considered, he said. The governor also said that all educational institutions must practise proper professional ethics and core values, which were “non-negotiable”.  Education institutions should address issues such as lack of basic infrastructure inside the campus and also availability of qualified teachers, Narasimhan said.   As many as 1,030 students received their degrees at the graduation ceremony.A K Bansal, executive director, Indian Overseas Bank, Dr Thangam Meganathan, chairperson, and S Renganarayanan, the principal, were also present.
