A government employee from the state of Andhra Pradesh has taken it upon himself to cremate the orphaned corpses with all the important final rites. The man is being praised for his thoughtful gesture of goodwill by the locals.

As per the reports of Local18, the kind man is Mallikarjuna, who is working as a revenue inspector in the municipal office of the Rayachoty town, in the district of Annamayya. He performs the final rites of those who were orphaned and left behind no one. He performs the rites according to the shastras of Hinduism, a show of belief and devotion to humanity.

Whoever dies an orphan in the town of Rayachoty, Mallikarjuna makes sure to perform a cremation with full-fledged final rites. He also completes the rites of those who experienced accidental deaths, reports Local18. The local citizens call the man a “soul relative” of the orphaned corpses.

The Local18 team met with Mallikarjuna, asking him about his inspirational work and commitment. According to the man, it is a huge privilege for him to serve the orphans, something he believes to be the work of a past life. He wants to continue doing the work for a long time, as it gives him immense satisfaction as a human.

A similar selfless act was carried out by a young man named Goutham, a resident of Hyderabad. As per the information given, he founded a non-governmental organization called Serve Needy, which takes care of the final rites of unclaimed corpses. They have cremated more than 500 bodies, earning awards like the Bharat World Record and the Bharat Yuva Seva Ratna Award. They conducted the last rites of people belonging to various religions, according to the beliefs of their faith.
