Anoop Jacob sworn in as MLA

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Anoop Jacob was sworn in as an  MLA, representing the Piravom Assembly segment, in a simple ceremony held in the Assembly on Thursday. He took the oath of  office and secrecy in front of Speaker G Karthikeyan. Close relatives of the newly-elected member and prominent UDF leaders witnessed the swearing-in from the VIP gallery. Those who were present were Daisy Jacob, mother of Anoop and wife of late T M Jacob, wife Anila and sister Ambili, KC(Jacob) chairman Johny Nellore, UDF convenor PP Thankachan and IUML leader Syed Sadique Ali Shihab Thangal and some others.Anoop took the oath after seeking the blessings of front benchers among both the ruling and opposition benches including Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and cabinet colleagues, Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan and Deputy Opposition leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.He took the oath in God’s name. Later, he walked to the chair and sought the blessings of Speaker G Karthikeyan.Anoop was allotted a seat in the last row of   the House.  The young member was greeted by the members including ministers.
