He's made 32 films in all. His first was 'Do Gaz Zameen Ke Neeche' and in 30 years since his first film, he is credited with bringing the horror kitsch genre to India. Fans of B-grade Indian horror hold the Ramsays in high regard, because despite poor production quality and laughable performances, the Ramsay films are great entertainers. In this video to Bollywood Masala, Ramsay, in all seriousness discusses his upcoming film 'Neighbours' to be released on March 18, 2014.
"The heroine of the film, who is a big fan of horror stories, keeps spying on her neighbours with binoculars. One day she realizes that her immediate neighbours are vampires, they are not normal humans," Ramsay says. "She is the only eye witness. She shares what she saw with everyone but everyone laughs it off saying it's just her imagination. You know vampires live on human blood. For the first time a vampire film has been attempted in India. The vampire theme has been inspired from Hollywood," he says.
The movie's official YouTube channel said the film has been directed and produced by Shyam Ramsay and will bring back memories of childhood watching horror films such as 'Veerana', 'Purani Haveli', 'Purana Mandir' and 'Bandh Darwaza'. It is co-produced by Subhash Dawar and Saasha Ramsay is an associate director.
