An aggregate number of one lakh devotees are expected to participate in the Ashtamirohini vallasadya, marking Sree Krishna Jayanti celebrations, slated to be held at Aranmula Sree Parthasarathi Temple on September 8.
Talking to the Express, Palliyoda Seva Sangham president K V Sambadevan said that preparations began for the smooth conduct of the annual vallasadya in which all the 49 palliyodams would participate.
“For the vallasadya, 501 ‘para’ of rice would be used,” Sambadevan said.
The devotees would be offered the vallasadya at the ‘oottupuras’ and make-shift auditoriums to be built on the four sides of the temple.
NSS president P N Narendranathan Nair would inaugurate the Ashtamirohini vallasadya by lighting the traditional lamp, after the uchcha pooja in the temple at 11.30 a m, Sambadevan said. MLAs K Sivadasan Nair and P C Vishnunath would be the chief guests on the occasion. “Devotees would have the facility to sponsor the vallasadya by donating a sum of Rs 7,000,” he said.
“Donation coupons of Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000 would be available for the devotees for joint sponsorship,” Sambadevan said. “A team of 200 members headed by Manoj Madhavassery would undertake the vallasadya preparations,” he said.
He said that Manoj was selected for the vallasadya venture after inviting quotations from eligible contractors.
