PUDUCHERRY: Former education minister PML Kalyanasundaram was granted bail in the SSLC supplementary examination fraud case by the Judicial magistrate II of Tindivanam court Santosh on Monday.Kalyanasundaram moved the court of Judicial Magistrate I on Thursday seeking bail, after the case was chargesheeted by the Villupuram Crime Branch on Tuesday.The validity of the anticipatory bail granted by Supreme Court expired after the case was chargesheeted. Now with JM I being on leave the case came up for hearing before JM II, who granted him the bail till the trial was over.Next, when the case is numbered by the magistrate and the date is given for hearing in the case, summons will be issued to Kalyanasundaram to appear in court.As per the chargesheet filed by the VCB, Kalyanasundram was not found guilty of impersonation by using a proxy to write the SSLC supplementary examination at the Tagore Matriculation Higher Secondary School at Jayapuram in Tindivanam on September 29.As per the forensic expert opinion, the sample signature given by Kalyanasundaram matched with that on the answer script.A school drop out, he has, however, been charged with conspiracy, malpractice and fabrication of records for which he would be tried in the court.
