BANGALORE: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda hinted that the much-awaited Bangalore Metro rail will be dedicated to the people of Bangalore as a Diwali gift.Gowda told reporters here on Saturday that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, whom the state government has invited for the inauguration, is on a foreign trip and the final date for inauguration will be announced after his return to India.“Singh has accepted our invitation. We are in touch with his office. The PM is likely to indicate the date after his return,” Gowda said, adding that he would assign the job of getting a date from the PM to his senior cabinet colleague.Though the CM has hinted that the inauguration would be held around Diwali, sources in the government maintain that it could happen much before, most likely during Dasara in the first week of October.
