Benazir to announce date of return to Pak today
PPP will announce the date of Bhutto's return on Friday evening.

New Delhi: Pakistan's former prime minister, Benazir Bhutto, will announce a schedule for her return to Pakistan on Friday, ending a nearly decade-long self-imposed exile.

Pakistan People's Party will announce the date of her return at the party's Central Secretariat on Friday evening.

Bhutto met her party leaders at Dubai three days ago. Party sources said after the announcement of the schedule, all levels of the party would get busy in preparations for a rousing welcome.

Though a deal with President Pervez Musharraf is yet to materialise amid opposition from the ruling PML-Q and its allies to Benazir's demands, Musharraf's accommodative stance towards PPP is considered a good omen for the party.

Last week, Bhutto has come out in defence of the much-touted power-sharing deal between Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf and herself, after rumours that the pact was nearing a collapse.

"We tried our best to workout the deal. Now, everything is up to President Musharraf. Our primary aim is to restore democracy in Pakistan but time is very short," sources quoted her as saying.

Sources also told CNN-IBN that the negotiations for the deal are continuing between the two leaders.

A minister close to the General was quoted by news agency PTI as saying that the deal had "collapsed" over Bhutto's demand that prime ministers must be allowed a third term.
