BANGALORE: The Golden Bherunda award ceremony, which was also the closing ceremony for the week-long Bangalore International Film Festival, witnessed the attendance of Governor H R Bharadwaj, along with actresses Jayanthi and Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, held at Ravindra Kalakshetra here on Thursday.The ceremony began by paying homage to noted film personalities who passed away in the last decade, including Sivaji Ganesan and Dev Anand.In his keynote address, executive director of the festival Muddu Mohan said that Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda has promised to continue the film festvial. Artistic Director of the film estival H N Narahari Rao, while citing the example of International Film Festival of Kerala, said that it takes three to four years for a film festival to establish its identity.“We have had over 3,500 delegates who attended the film festival, which is a record in itself. We will make sure that BIFFes becomes the best film festival in India,” he said triumphantly.
