The latest star to make his presence felt at IIFA is Amitabh Bachchan who took a train from London to Yorkshire.

Yorkshire: Stars are pouring in Yorkshire for the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards in Yorkshire and the latest one to make his presence felt was IIFA's brand ambassador Amitabh Bachchan who took a train from London to Yorkshire.

Bachchan arrived at York station on Friday for Bollywood's weekend awards celebration. Dressed in a jacket reminiscent of his character in Bunty Aur Babli, Bachchan was clearly glad to be in the English countryside.

"IIFA is really a celebration of Indian cinema beyond Indian shores and we are very happy to be here in Yorkshire. The people of Yorkshire are very warm and welcoming,” Bachchan said.

Going down memory lane, Bachchan said, “We started off the IIFA movement from London in the year 2000. It's been seven years now, it's good to be back almost on home territory. There is a very large Indian and Asian community in this part of the country but also the love and affection and the attention we get from the locals is not just surprising but very welcome."

Some of the stars who have already reached Yorkshire are Shilpa and Shamita Shetty, Salman Khan, Emraan Hashmi among others.

The five-day star-studded event is expected to attract 28,000 visitors and will be broadcast to a global audience of nearly 500 million in 110 countries.
