After Chhattisgarh, BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi took the political fight against Congress for 2014 general elections to poll-bound MP once again as he addressed a rally in Chhattarpur on Monday. While delivering his speech he admitted that Congress allegation of BJP being a 'chor' is correct.

""Congress calls us (chor) thieves, I would like to say we accept the charge because we have stolen the sleep of Congress workers," he said.

Attacking Congress on 'lack of development' in MP during its rule, Modi alleged Congress had destroyed the state and that BJP  has been committed for 10 years to fill the holes made by them.

"Congress leaders go to villages and make provocative speeches. I want to ask what they did in all these years? But have they built schools, roads, hospitals in 50 years of rule in the state? They have only destroyed the state. A comparison between MP's highways and national highways can show how much work the state govt has done. If you (Congress) want to fight with the BJP, fight on the plank of development," he said.

He further went to the extent of accusing Shehzada (Rahul Gandhi) and Madam ji (Sonia Gandhi) of manufacturing lies.

In an indirect reference to Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, he said that "one former CM who speaks a lot is now engaged full time in manufacturing lies" and challenged Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi to fight BJP on facts, not lies.

"If the Congress, Sonia and Rahul Gandhi want to fight the BJP, they should talk about development. You won't be able to fight the BJP on the basis of lies," he said.

Lauding Shivraj Singh Chouhan for only 'focusing on making progress of the state' he said, "In a democracy it is the responsibility of parties to give an account for all their expenses. But govt in Delhi doesn't do so. On the other hand, Shivraj Singh went to villages across the state and told the people about what his government has achieved. I congratulate Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his entire team."

"Shivraj ji has done a lot of irrigation work. Can you see this development or not? You can see it but Delhi cannot. In 10 years, BJP has taken the cultivable land to 25 lakh hectares in MP. Wheat production was 50 lakh tonnes under Cong. Under the BJP land and farmers remain the same, but 160 lakh tonnes are produced now," he said quoting a 13 pc growth in agriculture under as against a 4 pc growth during Congress rule. He further said that unlike Congress, BJP wants to create jobs, ensure education for all, provide ample food and medical facilities.

He further took a dig at Digvijaya Singh saying "when the chairman of the lie manufacturing industry used to be in power, the farmers were committing suicide".

Steering clear of any attempts by BJP to lower the quality of political discourse as alleged by Congress, Modi hit out at Rahul Gandhi for denigrading the office of PM over his 'nonsense' remarks on an ordinance protecting convicted lawmakers earlier.

"PM has said the quality of political discourse has been lowered by us. Dear PM,who reduced the level of politics? It is the VP of your Party who called your decision  a nonsense in a press conference, do not blame us," he said.

"Let the people decide if those committing crimes or those challenging them should come to power. We are asking for your vote in the name of development. Choose the BJP MLA from your area, and help us form the government here and in Delhi," he said while concluding his speech.

Narendra Modi will address pre-poll campaign rallies in Bhopal on Monday where earlier, in a grand ceremony last month, BJP had declared Modi as its PM candidate. He is also going to address rallies in Guna and Sagar.
