On a day when AICC president Sonia Gandhi slammed Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi, senior Congress leader and former chief minister Nadendla Bhaskar Rao felt that Modi was being praised as the best chief minister only because of his initiatives in the solar power sector in his state.
Though Rao did not want to sing paeans to the BJP leader, what all he intended to say was Modi succeeded in promoting solar power sector.
“Because of his initiative, there is a flow of foreign investments into Gujarat,” he told reporters here on Wednesday.
Accusing the BJP of taking a U-turn on allowing FDI in the retail sector, he said, “The then BJP-led NDA government had decided to allow FDI in retail business. But now the same BJP is finding fault with the Centre,’’ he said.
