BANGALORE: Asserting that the Karnataka Government was ‘doing all it can’ to make the environment (investor) more friendly, State Chief Secretary SV Ranganath said that they were conducting regular meetings with investors to ensure that all their concerns are addressed.Speaking at the inauguration of the 2nd edition of the MSME Defence Expo 2012, in the city on Friday, he said that there would be more impetus on government sponsored ventures including provision of capital to fund MSME sector. Adding to this, RK Mathur, Secretary of MSM, GOI, said that the defence offset policy would provide the MSME sector with opportunities and also Transfer of Technologies. It would also result in indigenisation of products.“Promotion of MSME sector in India would reduce dependence on international vendors,” Virbhadra Singh, Union Minister for MSME said and later added that the sector would receive a ‘quantum leap’ in the upcoming 12th Five year plan.Adding to this, Minister of State, M M Pallan Raju said that there were 59 million people involved in the 29 million MSME units in the country and were providing for nearly 29 per cent of the requirements.
