That means that users can now have both the look and function of Macs, and the versitility of a Windows operating system.
New Delhi: Apple Computer Inc on Wednesday rolled out a software patch that enables its Intel-based Macintosh computers to install and run Microsoft Corp's Windows XP operating system.
Apple said that the new software called "Boot Camp" is available as a download from Friday.
That means that users can now have both the look and function of Macs, and the versitility of a Windows operating system.
In June 2005, Apple switched to using Intel chips from IBM chips in its Macs.
That move brought down the sales but now there should be no such issue and it plans to move its entire Mac line to Intel chips by the end of 2007.
With the new software installed, users have flexibility between Mac or Windows.
