BANGALORE: Come Shivaratri and many have their own peculiar ways of celebrating it. Some unveils giant statue of Shiva, while others celebrate it uniquely by creating a humongous Rudraksh chain. The RV Badraya Stores, wholesalers of Rudraksh beads in the city is behind the creation of this gigantic rudraksh mala. The chain is made up of 50,108 panchmukhi rudraksh beads from Nepal, 2800 feet brass wires and covers a length of 28 feet and weighs over a whooping 300 kgs. It took them 15 days to complete the task.“This is the fourth consecutive year that we are making this chain, every year we offer it to a Shiva temple. In the previous year, we offered the mala to Dharmasthala. This year we are offering it to the  Yediyur Siddhalingeshwara Temple,” said R B Basavaraj, owner of R V Badraya Stores. The panchamukhi (five-faced) rudrakshas are abundant and easily available and Basavaraj. Team believes that this is the most befitting way to celebrate Shivratri. The chain is put on public display at Rajajinagar.
