CHENNAI: The State Platform For Common School System has sent a letter to the Chief Secretary requesting the implementation of the Uniform School Education System from the ongoing academic year.
In his letter dated June 24, PB Prince Gajendra Babu, general secretary, noted that its expert panel found that the USE system and its textbooks had superior language skills, societal commitment and aided personality development.Prince expressed shock and pain over the constituents of the ninemember panel formed to implement the system. "These members did not implement the 25 per cent reservation in their own schools for underprivileged kids as mandated by the Right to Education Act 2009, while Lady Andal school, whose former principal Vijayalakshmi Srinivasan is on the panel, sent out a letter to parents asking them to oppose the RTE Act," he noted.
