Primary and secondary sections of Sreenidhi International School celebrated its 9th Annual day on December 3 and 4 based on the theme Folk Raaga and Soiree. The evening was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by Vimala Ramachandran, managing director, ERU Consultants Pvt Ltd, New Delhi and the chairman K T Mahhe. Mayor Banda Kartika Reddy was also present.Folktales were selected as the theme for this year as children find it appealing. Telling or reading folktales is one way to cultivate a child’s soul and humanity. With their ancient symbolic images, such stories reach deep inside children, helping them connect with their essential nature. Folk tales from Indo-Pak, Tibet, France, Africa and Japan were performed by children, including the Gifts of Wali Dad, a simple grass cutter, the story of a Japanese boy, Yuki, who saved the villagers from Tsumani and the lonely African lady, who had the gourds turn into children with the power of her prayers were also staged by the school children. The evening concluded with the entire school performing on Mile Sur mera- tumhara.
