HOSUR: In a bizarre incident, a chopped head of a man was found on the banks of a lake near Hosur on Thursday, sending shock waves among the people of Krishnagiri district.
The head, which was highly decomposed and halfburnt, was found on the banks of the Attakurukki Lake on the Hosur Krishnagiri National Highway (NH7) by some persons who had gone there to answer nature's call. On information, a team comprising Hosur Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ramyabharati, Hosur Inspector Kannappan, Soolagiri Inspector Dhanasekar rushed to the spot.

Finger print experts and sniffer dogs were pressed into service.

Police sources said that the man could have been decapitated with a long knife as it was a measured cut.

Inquiries are on with the police stations on Karnataka border villages like Attibale, Anekkal, Sarjapura and Malur in this regard.
