MANGALORE: With former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa’s statement that he was running a circus company for three-and-a-half-years, which included mad people, one can understand the position of the BJP government in the state, said former CM H D Kumaraswamy, here on Sunday. Addressing a workers’ meet of Kuppepadavu Zone in Moodbidre constituency at Aramane Maidan, he said the state government’s achievement lies only in dividing society on religious grounds. Yeddyurappa’s tenure can be understood from his own statement that he was lost in managing the mad people around him, he said. “Some youth are attracted towards the BJP and Sangh Parivar, but this will be harmful for their future and society,” he pointed out, explaining that the youth are motivated to fight against the minority communities and to breach communal harmony. “Youth should not be a part of the Sangh Pariwar conspiracy,” he said.JD(S) has been trying to replace the Congress and BJP to script a new history in the state, with the vision of overall development and a better place for all religions, he added. The incident of hoisting the Pakistani flag in Sindagi was part of the conspiracy to disturb communal harmony by the Sangh Parivar, he noted. The state government has taken such a serious offence lightly and the Congress is silent on it. The Congress’ statement of supporting minorities and the BJP’s motto of protecting Hindutva, are vote bank tactics, he said. JD(S) leader Mahendra Kumar confessed his mistakes while part of the Sanga Parivar, as he was motivated to hate minority communities. “The Hindutva of Sanga Parivar is only a marketing tool and a vote bank agenda for the BJP. Datta Peeta and Edga Maidan issues were only part of vote bank politics of the BJP and the real issues were neglected when the party came to power,” he added. “I am going to publish a book ‘Idgah Siddantha’ to inform the public about the Idgah Maidan issue in Hubli,” he informed. Kumaraswamy honoured 10 progressive farmers of the region at the programme.
