BANGALORE: The talks between the PU college lecturers and Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda to end the stand-off over wage revision, which led to a boycott of paper evaluation, failed late Friday night. The state government decided to stick to the April 19 deadline for speaking to the agitating members. This has led to an impasse with the lecturers refusing to back down and vowing to continue their strike.  Members of Karnataka State PU College Lecturers Association and Coordination Committee stated that they were not informed about the Friday night meeting. Around 100 teachers protested at Freedom Park. State Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, however, said the lecturers would go back to evaluating papers from Saturday and come to the negotiating table on April 19.
