Congress seeks relief details

BANGALORE: Charging the state government of diverting Central funds worth Rs 700 crore meant for tackling the 2009 floods which devastated over 17 districts, senior Congress leader Basvaraja Rayareddy demanded a white paper on the issue from the government. He said that the government misutilised a Rs 2,350-crore aid from the Centre.‘Welfare of Weaker Sex Neglected’President of the women’s wing of KPCC Manjula Naidu claimed that atrocities against women have increased during the BJP regime in state. She added that women welfare was negelcted entirely and this was reflective in the conduct of its ministers.
