Counselling for filling MBBS additional seats
Counselling for filling MBBS additional seats

After the Supreme Court directed the State to increase the number of MBBS seats to facilitate meritorious students in the open category, the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) will be holding a counselling session on Thursday.

The DME officials have ascertained that 28 students in the FOC category, who were unable to secure a place in government medical colleges through open counselling, will now be eligible for seats in State-run colleges. With a cut-off of 198.5, these students will only be able to secure admission in peripheral medical colleges in Madurai or Coimbatore.

Fifteen of these students had enrolled themselves in PSG medical college in Coimbatore under the government quota, but will most likely grab this chance. The notification on eligible students will be posted on the websites www.tnhealth.org and www.tn.gov.in from Wednesday.
