KOCHI: In order to sort out the server problem hindering registration of the CAT applicants at Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat), a new server is likely to be installed on Tuesday.“Keltron has agreed to give us a new server on Tuesday,” said Sunil K Narayanan Kutty, director, academic admissions. After the online registration process began on January 15, the server could not take the load and snags developed. For the first time the payment is being made through ATMs and students have to send their journal number and other details to complete the registration which is done in three phases. So far 36,000 applicants have completed the first phase of registration in which name and personal details are given.About 15,000 candidates have completed the second phase that includes uploading photos and 15, 000 have completed the full registration. Some candidates are unable to complete registration due to the delay in accessing the website to give additional details needed after making the payment.A parallel service is also being planned to ease the processing.Last year, 34,000 candidates had registered for CAT.
