London: Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle is flying to India to rescue the film's child stars.
The British filmmaker fears the lives of slum kids, 10-year-old Azhar Ismail and nine-year-old Rubina Ali are spiralling downwards despite their Oscars success, reported thesun.co.uk.
A 500,000 pound trust was set up to provide them schooling and apartments, but a source said: "Their lives do not appear to be any better."
Recently, both the kids were thrown on the streets after Mumbai civic authorities demolished nearly 50 shanties in a slum, terming them unauthorised.
