Debt-ridden farmer hangs himself in Sukkha Purwa Village

A debt-ridden farmer allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in Sukkha Purwa Village in Katra Bazar area in Gonda, the police said on Friday.

Solhu (42) committed suicide by hanging himself on Thursday night at his house, they said. The police have sent his body for postmortem.

According to villagers, the farmer was depressed due to his financial condition and the debt on him.
