London: For the first time, a West Yorkshire-based graphics company has made it possible for lovers of Kama Sutra, the ancient Indian art of love-making, to spice up their walls by putting up large portraits of its images.
ID-Wall, the large-format picture and graphics company based in Huddersfield, has secured the rights to produce and distribute images from US-based spiritual guru Deepak Chopra's best-selling book, "Kama Sutra: The Seven Spiritual Laws of Love".
The company says that its mission is "to provide you big pictures for your big walls". It specialises in licensed imagery from many well known organisations and brands.
The 12 paintings of Kama Sutra imagery, mounted on canvas, is said to be growing in popularity across the globe. The imagery depicts abstract scenes from the seven laws of love: Attraction, Infatuation, Communion, Intimacy, Surrender, Passion and Ecstasy.
The company says that each piece is expertly hand-crafted, individually numbered and reproduced on limited edition Giclée prints and each comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Pleased with the quality of work produced by the company, Chopra said: "Sexual energy is the primal energy of the Universe. It is the principle fuel behind all of our creativity that gives rise to poetry, music, art, and science.
"The images created by artists at our studio reflect these qualities naturally and authentically and I am thrilled that more of the world will now see them."
Tim Bennett, managing director of ID-Wall said: "We are honoured to be working with Deepak and the Virgin Comics team (publishers of Chopra's book). This arrangement allows ID-Wall to supply and service fine art aficionados worldwide with this unique range of beautiful prints.
"We are already receiving a huge amount of interest from the industry and we are looking forward to the official launch in the new-year."
Larry Lieberman, chief marketing officer at Virgin Comics, said: "The extraordinary quality and consistency of the canvas prints created by ID-Wall is very appealing to us. These images resonate with customers around the world, and ID-Wall's distribution systems make it simple for these canvases to be delivered everywhere."
Virgin Comics LLC was founded in November 2005 by Sir Richard Branson and his Virgin Group, alongside author Deepak Chopra, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur and Gotham Entertainment Group LLC, South Asia's leading publisher of comic magazines. The company has offices in New York City and Bangalore.
ID-Wall also has a deal with Lucasfilm to replicate Star Wars imagery.
